Red Cloud

My cheap bottle of Potter’s Apricot Brandy never smells or tastes like apricot to me. Having said that, when it’s used with proportion in mind, the artificialness fades away and the drink is left with a pleasant, though still unnamed, aroma and fruitiness.

Bitter is a must here.

Based on Red Cloud from Bartender’s Companion to 750 Cocktails (Makes 2 petite drinks):

  • 2 oz (4 tbsp) Gin
  • 1 oz (2 tbsp) Apricot Brandy
  • 1 oz (2 tbsp) lemon juice
  • ½ tsp Grenadine
  • ¼ tsp Angostura Bitter

  1. Add all ingredients to shaker with ice. Shake and serve.
